We’re seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Title and Accounting Specialist to join our Accounting Department. This hybrid position is responsible for processing all vehicle title and registration documents while assisting with general accounting functions such as reconciliations, posting transactions, and supporting the month-end close process. The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills, accuracy, and a solid understanding of both dealership titling procedures and accounting principles.
Title Processing:
Prepare, verify, and process all new and used vehicle title and registration paperwork in compliance with state and local regulations.
Submit title documents to appropriate agencies in a timely and accurate manner.
Reconcile title schedules and maintain an organized filing system for title records.
Process trade-ins, lien releases, and payoff documentation accurately.
Communicate with the Sales, Finance, and Accounting teams to resolve title issues promptly.
Track and monitor all title transactions, ensuring completion and compliance.
Accounting Support:
Post daily accounting entries related to vehicle sales, dealer trades, and financial transactions.
Assist with bank deposits, cash posting, and account reconciliations.
Support month-end closing activities and prepare related documentation.
Reconcile schedules for inventory, payoffs, and accounts receivable/payable as assigned.
Assist the Accounting Manager with reporting, audits, and process improvements.
Maintain confidentiality and integrity of all financial and customer information.
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting or business preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in automotive accounting, title processing, or related dealership roles.
Strong knowledge of state title laws, registration requirements, and accounting procedures.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and dealership management systems (DMS) such as Tekion, Reynolds, or CDK.
Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and time management.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Professional demeanor and dependable work ethic.
Office environment with frequent interaction across departments.
Regular computer and document handling.
Standard Monday–Friday schedule; occasional overtime during month-end close.
